Celebrating Georgia’s Environment with EarthShare

Our friends at EarthShare of Georgia recently held their Leadership Breakfast at the Georgia Aquarium and their 19th Annual Earth Day Party at the historical Defoor Centre in Westside Midtown. The talented Jason Hales and I were lucky to be on hand to document both.

The 12th Annual Earth Day 2014 Leadership Breakfast was held in the Oceans Ballroom. The awards presented at the Leadership Breakfast were gorgeous, but weren’t to be outshined by the sparkling aquatic setting. What a perfect backdrop for celebrating Georgia’s environment and sustainable business practices.

The Defoor Center decked out for the Earth Day Party was no less stunning — and guests took time out to snap their own shots.

Event chairs Linda and Steve Edwards clearly know how to throw a party, and ensured this benefit for Georgia’s only dedicated environmental fund hit — or more likely exceeded — the mark.

One highlight of the evening was a silent auction offering a magnetic variety of eclectic items. EarthShare VIPs rushed to snap some up in record time!

There truly was something for everyone to bid on–from the exotic to the more…”practical” eco-products–and deals on many other beautiful, delicious and enticing offerings in between! All proceeds benefited EarthShare of Georgia.

It wouldn’t be a party without great food and the Defoor Centre’s catering team, led by Michelle Davidson, didn’t disappoint. Guests enjoyed an array of locally sourced organic foods and beverages.

Entertainment provided by The Pergantis Trio encouraged guests to linger and listen.

The smiling faces we encountered throughout the evening were a joy to photograph, especially knowing that the fun was benefiting a worthy cause.

We’d like to extend many thanks to Andrea Hansberry at EarthShare of Georgia for inviting us to support the event!

Cox Kicks Off Annual Employee Giving Campaign

We were honored to join Cox Enterprises on October 8 for the kick off of their annual employee giving campaign. This is the fifth year Atlanta Event Photography has shot the event, and the passion Cox employees show for giving back to the community never ceases to impress.

This year AutoTrader hosted the college sports-themed event, complete with food and games to satisfy fans and players alike! The crew from B98.5 FM provided music.

We loved the competitive spirit Cox employees brought to the games. Whether it was baseball, football, basketball or the beanbag toss, they were in it to win!

Harry the Hawk, mascot of the Atlanta Hawks basketball team, made a special appearance at the festivities. Quick to show his athletic versatility, Harry even tossed a football for the cause.

While they were giving it their all on the playing field, this was not all fun and games. The serious business of giving was also underway. Throughout the event employees pledged their support for The United Way, EarthShare and other non-profit organizations. The festivities took place right on the Cox campus on C-Tech Lawn so Atlanta employees could easily drop in as their schedules allowed.

Many Cox senior executives dropped in throughout the afternoon. Cox’s Chief Operating Officer, John Dyer, and AutoTrader’s Jim Franchi spoke to the crowd to help get everyone in the spirit of giving.

Special thanks to Christina Carter at Cox for getting us involved in this worthwhile event!
