Cox Media Group Knows Super Conferences & Superbrands!

We were honored Cox Media Group asked us to join them again to cover their Content Conference in Orlando. This time around AEP doubled the productivity — and the fun! — because our production manager, Lyndsey Wright, and I covered it together. With CMG’s absolutely packed agenda this year I was thankful we were able to tag team.

Opening events included a President’s Circle dinner for high achievers — who were also high on exuberance!

Bill Hoffmann, President of Cox Media Group, was on hand to welcome the Cox team at an opening reception for all attendees.

One highlight was a night at House of Blues with a high-energy performance from Darius Rucker. He mixed it up with his newer music and some flashbacks to his Hootie & the Blowfish days (yes, some in the audience remembered “Hold My Hand” as clearly as we did!). Congrats to Darius on his recent Billboard Award nominations forĀ Top Country Artist and Top Country Song for “Wagon Wheel!”

We quickly came to the conclusion that when media experts get together, even conference sessions are colorful and entertaining.

The attendees approached the learning opportunities at the content conference as seriously as they did their fun. They participated in general sessions and breakouts focused on achieving “superbranding success,” leveraging the vast array of media under the CMG umbrella.

As if the House of Blues weren’t enough, a night at the Hard Rock–and a Sheryl Crow performance–were also on the agenda.

Those of you who know Lyndsey may also know that she’s one of the biggest Sheryl Crow fans on the planet. She explored new frontiers in simultaneous singing and shooting–and captured some great moments in the performance and the CMG team having a blast all night.

A field trip to Whisper Creek Farm offered a nice change of pace from the concerts. The Farm sits on the 500-acre Grande Lakes estate and provides the JW Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton with amazing fruits, vegetables and other products for their restaurants and spa.

The CMG team got to enjoy a farm to table experience featuring barbecue grilling and outdoor entertainment.

Whisper Creek’s dishes were a feast for the eyes.

Our cameras also enjoyed the stunning setting…

…and the scene became even more beautiful when the sun went down.

Thank you to Cox’s Kristy Vinot and Andy McDill for inviting AEP to cover the conference again this year!

Dining for a Difference with Families First

We were honored that Families First asked AEP to cover the 16th annual Dining for a Difference event, their largest fundraiser of the year. The event drew community leaders, corporate sponsors, advocates and other guests — more than 500 in total — to a celebration of the Families First mission: To ensure the success of children in jeopardy by empowering families.

InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta was host to a cocktail hour, dinner and presentations including client reflections and videos. Families First CEO Kim Anderson was a busy lady but glowed all night!

Author and playwright Pearl Cleage signed her books and shared inspiring words as the event’s special guest. Her work spans books including Things I Should Have Told My Daughter: Lies, Lessons & Love AffairsWhat Looks Like Crazy On An Ordinary Day and Seen It All and Done the Rest and many plays, like Flyin’ West and Other PlaysA Song for Coretta and The Love Project. Her titles alone could hook any reader!

One of the most uplifting portions of the evening was the presentation of scholarships to five deserving Metro Atlanta students. Families First leadership and the entire audience made them feel very special.

With the tremendous turnout and the heartwarming success stories shared at the event, there was a lot to celebrate.

InterContinental Buckhead provided a delicious meal and beautiful tablescapes worthy of the event.

Thank you, Families First, for allowing us to capture the smashing success of your special event!
